” I expect Peoples Democratic Party PDP to even encourage more participation, because to see that they have worthy opponents in Rivers State election. For them to think that APC is been favoured by INEC, INEC is trying to be a good umpire, and then if all of us believe that we need a free and fair election, then we should all encourage each other to prepare for the election, not about finding any way to deny the participation of one political party. And they will have to give Rivers people chance, opportunity to make choices among the contestants. If you limit the contestant, it means Rivers State people will not have the chance of making a choice” he stated.

Senator Wilson Aki also dismissed speculations that the party has influence the INEC.

” APC have no reason to induce INEC. INEC is an independent organization that does their things according to the laws guiding them. So if there is anything outside that, that must be illegal. We as a political party talked about change., and we are sticking to that matter of change. We have no intension of inducing INEC or any other agencies having any role to play in this election” he stated .
