Akabuike condoles with Onuigbo’s family, describes his death as a colossal loss

 

The Transition Committee Chairman of Umuahia North Local Government Area, Comr Lucky Akabuike, has condoled with the family of the Late PDP chairman, Sir Johnson Onuigbo, describing his death as a collossal loss.

Comr Akabuike who visited the home of Sir Onuigbo earlier today alongside his Deputy chairman, Hon.Ugochukwu Ibe, his Chief of Staff, Chief Oji Ahamefula and the Secretary to the Local Government,Lady Ify Ezuruike, said the death of Sir Onuigbo was a big shock not just to the PDP family alone but to the entire Umuahia North Council, having served as a Deputy and Chairman of the Council in the past.

Akabuike who also described his death as a disaster, said anybody that knows Akinbod as he was fondly called, would have wanted him to live longer because of his comic nature and display of wise counsel.

He continued to say that the late Party chaiman was a peace lover,who would not want any aggrieved party member to leave his sight without looking for solutions to his problem.

“Akinbod was a good man to me,he was a close ally.Am one of the few persons in Ohuhu land that the late Onuigbo cared for.His death was unexpected, we will really miss him”.

While urging the wife, Lady Uzoamaka Onuigbo to be comforted in the Lord and take solace in the fact that her husband was a forthright man, who fought hard to build legacies that would outlived him.

According to the Umuahia North Council Boss, Sir Onuigbo left values and standards that the family could leverage on anytime in life. He added that Sir Onuigbo has opened door for the family that cannot be shut, as nobody in Abia state and probably beyond, can refuse access to the children or wife in issues that matter.

Akabuike, however, disclosed that the late Akinbod was a lover of God and an active member of the Anglican communion,whose service in the house of God, fetched him the title of a Knight.

The Umuahia North boss further enjoined the family particularly the wife to brace up and be strong, so she could continue from where the husband stopped.

Akabuike, however, revealed that the Umuahia North Council has opened a condolence register on his behalf,as a one time Mayor of the council.

Meanwhile,the council boss further had a brief stop over at the residence of Chief Charles Ogbonnaya who was a relation to the deceased.

Akabuike while briefing Chief Ogbonnaya,said the stakeholders of the council decided to pay a condolence visit to the late Akinbod family because of his numerous contributions to the local government.

According to him, the legacies of the late Akinbod are still standing in the council, adding that history would not forgive the present leadership of the council, if they do not condole with his family, having worked tirelessly for the council and the party.

Chief Ogbonnaya lauded the move of the chairman, saying that they have fulfil tradition by coming to visit the family of a one time council boss.

Narrating how he received the death of Akinbod, Ogbonnaya said it was a painful moment for him as he never expected the death of Akinbod now.

According to chief Ogbonnaya, he would jokingly tell Akinbod, that he (Charles) would die before him since he was older than him.

He said life is a stage where we all come and play the role designed by God and once we are done, we exit.

Chief Ogbonnaya, however,said that he is only consoled by the fact that this world is a market place and we will all buy and go home some day, admonishing everyone to prepare for their turn.
