The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. ACB Agbazuere, says he would work to advance the objectives of the present administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu as well as to improve governance.
This is even as he charged Government House Press crew to show more commitment to work and contribute in projecting the image of the State.
Dr Agbazuere who was interacting with members of the Government House Press Crew in his office, assured that he would work closely with the press to ensure Governor Ikpeazu achieves his administration’s pillars of development.
While reminding journalists that they have been called to serve, Agbazuere adviced them to take their job seriously and discharge their duties effectively.
He stressed the need for newsmen to be outstanding and ensure they do not place value on money more than the work.
The Chief of Staff called for continuous support for the Governor, noting that since the creation of Abia State in 1991, Governor Ikpeazu has been the only one that has affected lives of Abia youths greatly through various programmes and policies introduced by his administration which include the Education for Employment (E4E)among other empowerment programmes.
He further pointed out that the Ikpeazu administration as part of measures to empower the youths, came up with the Enyimba Economic City, a project which he said is capable of creating over 700 thousand job opportunities for the teeming Abia youths.
Dr Agbazuere appreciated the Government House press corps for coming to identify with him and promised that the State Governor would complete both the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) secretariats in record time.
He used the opportunity to call on Abians to pay their taxes to enable the Governor deliver democracy dividends to the people.
Earlier in his speech, the Director of Information, Government House, Mr. Azubuike Jinanwa said the crew came to congratulate the new Chief of staff on his appointment.
Mr. Jinanwa who described the new Chief of staff to the governor as a brilliant and resourceful leader,assured him that the Government House press crew would work together as a team and ensure he succeeds in his appointment.
