Again, Gov Fubara Empowers Andoni People

The transformative winds of economic empowerment under Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration have reached Andoni LGA with a thunderous impact, as the Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Reginald Ekaan, rolled out the much-anticipated 2nd phase of the Andoni Economic Empowerment Programme. The event, which took place at Government Secondary School Ngo, saw the distribution of life-changing empowerment packages to deserving residents.

The empowerment packages unveiled by Hon. Reginald Ekaan included 12 mini buses, 6 cars for the Caretaker Committee members, 12 sewing machines, grinding machines, 12 generator sets, and barbing kits aimed at empowering beneficiaries to start or expand their businesses, lifting them out of economic uncertainty.

In a bid to further alleviate hardship in the Local Government Area, palliative items including 899 bags of rice, 450 bags of maize, and 99 bags of garri were distributed across the 11 wards in the LGA. Additionally, a grant of ₦50,000 was disbursed to 10 beneficiaries randomly selected from each ward.

Hon. Ekaan expressed deep gratitude to Governor Fubara for the confidence reposed in his team. “Your Excellency, challenge is a good virtue. We were once doubted, but today, we are delivering for our people because Governor Fubara recognized our potential,” he said.

Adding his voice, Rep. Abiante, leader of the SIMplified Movement in Andoni Local Government Area, lauded Governor Fubara for encouraging the opening of economic opportunities beyond politics. “Politics shouldn’t be the only economy our people know. Today’s empowerment opens up new economic spaces for our citizens, which, if well-managed, will provide not only for themselves but also for others during these trying times,” Rep. Abiante remarked. He urged beneficiaries to utilize these opportunities to sustain their livelihoods and deter from criminal activities.

The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo, who represented Governor Fubara, charged Hon. Ekaan to continue his good work for the people of Andoni, recognizing his dedication to service.

The ceremony was graced by political leaders, traditional rulers, and top government functionaries, all bearing witness to a new dawn of economic empowerment in Andoni Local Government Area.
