Mohamed Salah of Egypt and his Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane of Senegal as well as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who lace his boots for Arsenal scored 22 goals each to jointly top the scorers chart.
It is the lowest winning total since 2010-11, when Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez shared the Golden Boot with 20 goals each.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will represent Egypt and Senegal respectively in next month’s AFCON. If they reenact their club form for their national teams, expect a harvest of goals.
