The Super Eagles of Nigeria concluded their Africa Nations Cup qualifiers with a resounding 6-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Nigeria thus ended the qualifiers with 15 points and topped Group A.
Victor Osimhen opened scoring in the 13th minute before fellow Italy based Ademola Lookman made it two in the 27th minute.
After the break, Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi made it 3-0.
Osimhen scored his second goal from the spot on the 69th minute and completed his hat-trick ten minutes later before Samuel Chukwueze added the icing on the cake in the 84th minute.
Recall that Nigeria thrashed their opponents 10-0 in the reverse fixture.
The 2024 Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire between January 13 and February 11.
