AFCON: Nigeria Sink Sudan, Cruise into Last 16

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have booked their place in the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Sudan.

Samuel Chukwueze opened scoring in the third minute before Taiwo Awoniyi made it two just before half time.

Moses Simon made it three as soon as the second half resumed.

The Sudanese pulled one back via penalty spotted by the VAR.

Austin Eguavoen, who stuck with the team that defeated Egypt by a lone goal, introduced the Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa for his first appearance in Cameroon.

Nigeria will take on Guinea-Bissau on Wednesday while Egypt, who will take on Guinea-Bissau later today, will confront Sudan in the last group match.
