AFCON: Ghana Fumble Again

The Black Stars of Ghana chances of progressing beyond the group stages of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations is hanging on a balance as they fail to take all three points against fellow West Africans Gabon in a group C encounter.

Andre Ayew had given the Black Stars the lead in the 18th minute but they failed to consolidate with a second goal.

Two minutes to full time Jim Allevinah equalized under a controversial circumstance. Daniel-Kofi Kyere had gone down following a challenge, but from the resulting throw-in Allevinah got the ball and made no mistake in firing in the equalizer.

The Ghanaian players were not happy and after the match substitute Benjamin Tetteh was red carded for his role in the on-pitch melee that ensued.

Ghana must now win Comoros in their last match and hope that other results across other groups favour them if they will reach the last 16.
