AFCON: CAF Dismiss Tunisia’s Complaint Over Match Ending Early

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has dismissed The official complaint lodged by Tunisia football authorities over their match against Mali which the referee stopped before time.

Recall that Zambian referee Janny Zikazwe blew the final whistle on the 85th minute. Though the match was later restarted, the 2017 AFCON final referee ended the match again 13 seconds before the full time.

Zikazwe, who had suffered sunstroke, was rushed to hospital. The fourth official was set to officiate the remainder of the match but, the Tunisians refused to come out.

In a statement on Thursday, CAF said the AFCON Organizing Committee has dismissed Tunisia’s appeal, but did not give further clarifications.

CAF further confirmed the 1-0 result in favour of Mali.
