The Super Eagles of Nigeria have defeated the Swallows of Burundi by a lone goal, scored on the 77th minute by Odion Ighalo.
The Burundians made the game very difficult for the three-time African champions despite the West Africans having more of the possession.
Super Eagles played with aplomb as they continued to press for the break until Ola Aina’s stylish flick got to substitute Ighalo, who calmly placed the ball beyond the Burundian goalkeeper.
With three points down, the Super Eagles will now focus on their second match against Guinea.
