The Adamawa police command says the death toll in Tuesday’s attack at a mosque in Mubi has risen to 50.
Othman Abubakar, the command’s public relations officer, disclosed this to NAN on Tuesday.
Abubakar had earlier confirmed the attack to TheCable and said details would be given later.
“We have 50 dead and we are now trying to get the exact number of those injured,” NAN quoted him as saying.
The attack happened in Dazala area of Mubi town when Muslim faithful were observing the early morning prayer.
The incident is the first in three years since the liberation of Mubi town from Boko Haram insurgents in 2014.
