Abonta Moves To Rehabilitate School, Offers Scholarships in Ukwa-East

The member representing Ukwa-East/Ukwa-West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Uzoma Nkem Abonta has reiterated his commitment towards Human Capital Development among his constituents.

The Federal legislator, who stated this recently during needs assessment tour of schools in Ndoki, Ukwa-East Local Government Area (LGA), Abia State, disclosed that he would do everything within his disposal to ensure that his constituents enjoy good teaching and learning environment.

The lawmaker who further revealed that he has commenced plans to rehabilitate Technical Secondary School, Akwete, and employ additional five teachers in the school as a way to enhance depeen democratic dividends in the area.

Abonta also promised to offer scholarships (free tuition) for the first 100 students to be enrolled in the school as well as to pay West African Examination Council (WAEC) registration fees for 30 students in the school as part his Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Meanwhile, the Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ukwa-East LGA chapter, Comrade Emmanuel Akparanta, has described Hon. Abonta as an educational-friendly lawmaker, adding that he (Hon. Abonta) has previously built a 2-classroom blocks in the school.

Akparanta while commending the lawmaker for the gesture, called on other well-spirited Ndoki sons and daughters to emulate Abonta in order to drive grassroot development in Ukwa-East, and Abia State at large.

Contributing, Mr. Chisom Chidi Ogbonna who spoke on behalf of the school principal, thanked Hon. Abonta for his continuous supports in ensuring the school is revived, also noted that the lawmaker has always been of immense assistance to the school.

Dignitaries at the event were; former Transitional Committee (TC) Chairman, Ukwa-East LGA, Hon. Chief Bob Nwuzor, Chairman, Akwete Vigilante Group, Mr. Eze George, among others.
