Abia Tourism Commissioner, Nwamuo, Receives Distinguished Public Servant of The Year Award 2022, Dedicates Award To Gov Ikpeazu

The Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Barr. Tony Nwamuo has received Platinum Award of Excellence as the Distinguished Public Servant of the Year Award 2022 by National Ambassador Newspapers.

Presenting the Award in Umuahia Abia state, the Ag. General Manager, Abia Newspapers and Publishing Corporation (ANPC), Publishers of National Ambassador Newspapers, Deacon Francis Nwaogu, commended the Commissioner for being exceptional in managing the Abia Tourism sector, as well as promoting Igbo cultural heritage.

He noted that the former Commissioner for Environment, has through various policies, performed creditably in sustaining and promoting Gov. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu developmental strides in the Ministry.

Responding, the Abia state Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Barr. Nwamuo, who thanked National Ambassador Newspapers for the honour bestowed upon him, dedicated the award to Gov. Ikpeazu.

He urged Abians to continue to support Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu’s-led administration, adding that the Abia Governor has repositioned the state for greatness through various legacy projects across Abia state.

Nwamuo who called on Abians to vote Gov. Ikpeazu for Abia South Senatorial District in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, decried poor representation of the district in the past decade.

The Ndoki-born politician further urged Abians to vote for People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Abia Guber candidate, Prof. Uchenna E. Ikonne and other candidates of their party, maintaining that PDP has the best candidates in the 2023 polls.

He reassured stakeholders in the hospitality industry that Gov. Ikpeazu would continue to sustain the enabling environment for hospitality business and other businesses to thrive in the state.

 

Present at the event were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Engr. Ugochukwu Ugwuzor, Director of Tourism, Mr. Nwachukwu among others.
