Abia State Tourism Board has visited Iyi Otusi, Ifutititi and Ezie Ofre and Ukogoro stream in Amaekpu Ohafia and other tourism sites in Ohafia local Government Area of Abia State.
The General Manager of the Board, Hon. Atulomah Onyekachi Jackie who visited some of the tourist sites underscored the readiness of the Board to rehabilitate tourism enterprise in the State.
While disclosing that the Board will tour all the tourism sites in state, Hon. Atulomah stressed that the efforts of the Board is geared towards complementing the strides of the Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu in economic enhancement, provision of employment for Abia youths as well as attracting investors to the State.
She observed that Ohafia is blessed with numerous potentials that will boost development, adding that enhancing the tourism industry in the state will go a long way to attracting investors as well as boosting the aesthetic value of the State.
Hon. Atuloma thanked the Executive Chairman of Ohafia LGA and Chief Sam Anya Kalu for hosting her team in their local government area.
Earlier, the Chairman, Ohafia LGA, Dr Okorafor Ukaiwe said that rehabilitation of tourist sites in the state will be one of the best means to improve the economy of the state as Ohafia LGA remains an embodiment of tourism.
Dr. Ukiwe appreciated the General Manager, Abia Tourism Board, Hon. Atulomah for her creative consideration in rehabilitating the board and assured her that the council will key into her vision to achieve the success of rebranding the tourism industry in the State.
He also requested that his office be furnished with their blueprint to know where he could partner with the Abia State Tourism Board such as areas of training tourist guards in ohafia LGA, provision of adequate security, and also creating an avenue for employment for the youths
In his remarks, one of the PDP aspirants for Arochukwu / Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Sam Anya Kalu commended the State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for making tourism one of the top priorities in his administration.
He enjoined Hon. Atulomah to remain steadfast in her efforts to refine tourism industry which he said will help to extend development to rural areas in the state.
