Abia to collaborate with Kano on SMEs

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has stressed the need for Nigerians to engage in ventures that will sustain development of the nation irrespective of ethnic differences.

Governor Ikpeazu who stated this when Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state and stakeholders of Kano state paid him a visit at Government House, Umuahia also stressed the need for every ethnic nationality in the counter to respect each others differences and learn how to leverage on the things they share in common.

He said that it was essential for Nigerians to accept one another irrespective of our differences in order to develop our economy through their strengths .

According to him, every Nigerian had a role to play in the development of the nation and  need each other to build the nation.

Ikpeazu said: “This kind of synergy that we require between states. We are going to look at ways to collaborate  the business people of Aba and Kano;

“The initiative is meant to leverage on the advantage of the tanneries in Kano in the manufacturing of leather products.

“We are going to explore ways to buy bulk quantity of leather because of the Automated Shoe Factory the Abia government is planning to establish in order to boost the leather industry.”

In his address, Gov.  Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state said that Nigerians must continue to understand and respect our  differences and make judicious use of comparative advantage.

Ganduje said that it was necessary for Nigerians to evolve ideas that would consolidate our diversity in order to become  stronger and united as nation.

In his remark, The Emir of Kano, Muhammdu Sanusi II, said that the secret to successful national development , was the nation’s ability to accommodate everyone.

Sanusi said that it was commendable to see two governors from different political parties interacting on avenues to promote development in the nation.
