The Abia State Government says the forthcoming Abia–Turkiye Investment Summit and Product Exhibition, scheduled to hold from Tuesday to Thursday at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, is designed to unlock new business opportunities across key sectors of the State’s economy.
Speaking during a press briefing in Umuahia, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public–Private Partnership, Chief Green Amankwe, said the summit will focus on strategic areas such as manufacturing, Agriculture and Agro-processing, Textiles, Fashion and Leatherworks, Energy and Infrastructure, Trade and logistics, among others.

He disclosed that over 21 Turkish investors and hundreds of Nigerian business operators have already registered for the event.
According to him, the administration of Governor Alex Otti has made significant progress in building a more attractive and investor-friendly environment for both local and international partners.

With the theme “Bridging Continents, Unlocking Prosperity,” Chief Amankwe explained that the summit will provide direct platforms for business-to-business (B2B) engagements, enabling investors, exporters and local enterprises to establish new synergies, strengthen trade cooperation and advance strategic joint-venture opportunities.
He added that the State is working closely with the Aba and Umuahia Chambers of Commerce, as well as other Chambers of Commerce and Industry across Lagos, Kano and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, to enhance participation and broaden the network of economic collaborations.

Also speaking, two Turkish partners, Mr. Erdal Fatih Tozoglu and Mr. Banw Yenlikaya, described the Abia–Turkiye Summit as a significant step towards deepening bilateral economic cooperation.

They noted that the initiative underscores Turkey’s long-standing commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial ties with Africa, adding that the summit will open fresh avenues for partnership and investment in Abia State.
