The Chairman, Abia State Traditional Prime Ministers Council, High Chief Uche Akwukwuegbu (BAWAS) has affirmed his total support for the People’s Democratic Party Gubernatorial Candidate in Abia State, Professor Uche Ikonne.
Chief Akwukwuegbu who made this pledge while receiving Professor Ikonne and his team at his Ibeku-Umuahia country home, described Professor Ikonne’s candidacy as the best for Abia State at this time, noting that he has always employed his creative ingenuity and brilliant developmental ideas to transform any position entrusted to him.
Chief Uche Akwukwuegbu while commending the performances of His Excellency, Governor Ikpeazu in the area of human capital development, Small and Medium Enterprise, infrastructural development, and the overall development of the State, stated that the developmental-driven leadership legacy of Dr. Ikpeazu led administration must be sustained, as he will do everything within his powers to support the succession plan of His Excellency.
He also used the opportunity to call on all Abians to mobilise support for this divine project.
Earlier in his speech, Professor Ikonne told Chief Uche Akwukwuegbu, that the essence of his visit was to formally inform him of his interest to govern Abia come 2023.
He also used the opportunity to extol Chief Uche Akwukwuegbu’s sterling qualities as well as his contributions to the state and country at large.
Also speaking, the MD/CEO Okey Technical Construction Ltd, Deacon Okezie Onyemuwa, noted with pride, the leadership history of Professor Ikonne in his professional and academic fields, with an assertion that Abia state under his watch, will witness massive development. He enjoined all abians to massively support this project.
