The Abia state Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Cooperative Investment and Credit Society honours their retired officers as they held their 6th/2025 Annual General Meeting with the theme, “Advancing our Cooperative For a Better Future”.
The president of the cooperative ,DSC Okpokiri Nnaemeka Solomon, in his opening speech appreciated the Grand Patron, Patron commandant of the cooperative, members, board of trustees and business partners.
The president further stated that the cooperative has experienced increased development in membership and finance.
As of 31st December 2025, the cooperative capital base has increased from Fourteen Million, Eight Hundred and Eleven Thousand, Six Hundred and Twenty One naira (N114,811,621) to One Hundred and Seventy One Million, One Hundred and Forty Two Thousand, One Hundred and Fourthy Two Thousand, One Hundred and Twenty Nine Naira (171,142,129). While the cooperative membership has increased from 403 to 451.
The meeting also featured nine retired officers being appreciated with gifts presentation for their effort and service through their years of service.
Gracing the occasion is the Patron of the Cooperative Society Commandant Akinsola Aderemi represented by the command 2i/c DCC Damisa Anthony ,who commended the Cooperators, cooperative executives and the retired officers for their co-operation, organisation and improved developments.
Further speaking, the president encouraged who are not part of the cooperative to join as it would help them to take care of some certain unforseen financial challenges.
In a vote of thanks, Mrs Onyeike Mercy, who spoke on behalf of the 2025 retirees said ,they are happy for the kind gesture of the cooperative and appreciated the organiser for celebrating them now they are alive.
