Abia State Ministery Of Education Set To Launch E-learning

The Wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, has commended the Ministry of Education in Abia for its readiness to launch electronic education in the state.
The Governor’s wife who witnessed the preparatory class organised by the ministry for its teachers at the Vicar Hope Foundation conference hall in Umuahia the state capital said she has come to see things for herself because Governor Ikpeazu want Abia state to become first in launching E-learning before other states in Nigeria.
She commended the efforts of the ministry adding that it is important that the teachers get the technical knowledge well before presentation to our children and the outside world.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Eze Ajuzie, said that the launch of the E-learning was based on the advise of Governor Okezie lkpeazu and his passion to ensure that Abia children have enabling environment to study and excel even within the confine of their homes.
Ajuzie, explained that over the past week the teachers have embarked on series of learning and also peer to peer review with teachings from other clime to ensure that the best practices are deployed to achieve the goals of the programme.
According to Mr. Ajuzie, “basically the teachers are here to learn how to transfer knowledge electronically to the students in the confine of their homes” he said.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Basic Education, Chief Emma Rocks Ukwu, said that it is expedient that the ministry becomes innovative in its education development as obtained in developed world.
