Abia State Government Pledges Ongoing Collaboration with NEMA for Disaster Response

Abia State Government has said that it will continue to collaborate with NEMA and other federal Government Agencies for quality services to the people.

The Secretary to the State Government, Prof Kenneth Kalu stated this when he received a delegation from NEMA, led by the New Head of Operations, Imo and Abia chapters, who paid a courtesy visit to his office maintained that the role of NEMA in tackling issues of disaster cannot be overemphasized.

Prof. Kalu, who congratulated the New Operational Head, Mr Nnamdi Igwe on his posting assured him of the Government’s support to enable him to succeed and wished him well as he embarks on the assessment tour of the state.

Speaking earlier, the Operational Head, NEMA Imo and Abia, Mr Nnamdi Igwe said the visit was to familiarize himself with Government following his new posting and solicited the support of the Government to enable him to succeed.

The Executive Secretary of State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Sunny Jackson and the principal staff of the Agency were present during the visit.
