One would have expected that the sustained media sham against Governor Ikpeazu and his government would have abated ,at least,for now. Afterall , Abia State, like the whole world, is faced with a more horrendous and almost invincible frontal onslaught called covid-19 Pandemic.
Regrettably,that is not the case.Abia State,unlike other states, is replete with insipid detractors whose stock in trade is Mischief,mischief and,forever,Mischief!
Recently, a young Barrister was detained and,subsequently, arraigned in the court . The allegations against him , according to what i read in the social media, suggests that the spurious document,widely circulated in the media, of an oath, purportedly, sworn by the Governor, in far away India, is traceable to him. Just like the Honorable Commissioner of Information, in Abia State, has already inferred: Governor Ikpeazu has never, in his life, visited India. Talk less, going there to swear to an oath of perpetual subjugation, which negates the wellbeing of Abians.
As stupid and poorly doctored as the said document is, some gullible persons were still deceived.
Following the emergence of Corona Virus in Nigeria,the same crop of sedulous pranksters came around with another rumour that the Governor was stranded overseas. Some of them even alleged that the Govenor may have tested positive to covid-19!
Thanks to God that all of that have been put to rest following the Governor’s media briefing immediately he arrived Abia State.
It is more than 14 days that the Governor returned to Nigeria, to the glory of God, he has neither manifested any Covid-19 symptoms nor is he sick of Covid-19 related sickness!
Most recently, we woke up,once again, to read another malicious assertion that Governor Ikpeazu was feeding some indigent Abia populace with eba and soup. As incredulous as the pictures are,merely looking at them, some gullible persons still believed that the pictures were that of the Governor. It took a timely rejoinder, from the Omega Power Ministries (OPM)media team, to clarify that the pictures were not that of the Governor but their Gerneral Overseer, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, who was obviously demonstrating practical love,characteristic of his ministry and in line with the gospel,especially, in times like these when Corona virus is ravaging the world and citizens are forced to a lockdown as one of the potent ways to curb the continuous spread of the virus .
As much as the nexus to these heinous media concomitances may not easily be discernable,at least for now, one thing is clear, though : that some persons have Mischief innately ingrained in them,hence ,they cannot do without practicing their act.
However, the proclamations in the bible book of Hosea may have ,inadvertently, settled the fate of such Familiar Spirits : “They will reap the Whirlwind…”if they don’t repent !
