Abia State Commissioner of Police Encourages Graduands to Embrace Discipline and Excellence

Abia State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, has charged graduands to ensure that the discipline instilled in them during their studies remains visible in their daily living.

Onwuemelie who gave this charge during the Graduation ceremony of the Nigerian Police Force Education, Police Children School at the Central Police Station, Umuahia, Abia State, recently, expressed joy that witnessing the Police Parade of Primary School Pupils was a huge honour to his personality.

He urged them to ensure that the discipline shown during the parade continues to reflect in their academics and behavior while at school and outside the school.

His words; “I see in you great leaders of tomorrow, future Commissioners of Police, future Inspector Generals, future DIG of Police, future Presidents, Governors, members of the legislator, who will contribute their quota towards changing the story of our country for the better”.

The Abia Commissioner of Police further encouraged the graduands to be ambassadors of their school, as well as the Police force by living lives worthy of emulation in any field of endeavour they find themselves so as to always stand out from the crowd.

Do not say that toy does it, therefore I will also do it.
“Even if you are the only person that is standing out to do the right thing, be proud of it“, he added.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman on the Occasion, Mr. Nwanekwu Shedrack, commended the teachers for the efforts they put in to ensure that the pupils in the school become great Ambassadors, while he advised parents to ensure that the knowledge acquired by the pupils would not be a waste by ensuring that they would harness the educational part of their activities, the moral part and parental care respectively.

Mr. Nwanekwu, further urged parents to encourage their children to never relent in advancing their academics noting that ignorance is more expensive.

He, therefore, called on parents and guardians to continue to abet their children and wards in studies and training that will impact their lives positively, as this will help in the need to secure a good future for them.

 

In her address, the Headteacher, Mrs. Chioma Nwambu, appreciated all for their efforts in ensuring a smooth and successful school session, while reminding all that good discipline remains one of their best criteria in the training of pupils.

Speaking with one of the Basic 5 graduands, Miss Oguama Ugorji Adorable Sochukwukaima, who expressed enthusiasm for a successful session, thanked God for His grace and guidance, as well as her parents for the constant show of Love, while calling on parents and guardians to register their children and ward in Police Children School, where they will garner knowledge and be assured of great discipline being instilled in them.

The event which featured Cultural display, debate by learners, calisthenics, and Prize presentation, among others, had the Police Women Association, the Editor, Abia Newspapers and Publishing Corporation, Bro. Kingsley Ugorji, among other notable personalities in attendance.
