The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chikwendu Kalu has commiserated with the family of Late Elder John Uba Nworgu, a renowned political Leader at Okpungwu Ovungwu community in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.
In his speech, the Speaker disclosed that he came to identify with the family in their moment of grief and described the deceased as a respectful friend of his and an astute leader whose lifestyle had a positive impact on anyone that came in contact with him.
The Speaker who is also the Member representing Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, therefore, condoled with the immediate family of the deceased, the people of Okpungwu Ovungwu community and the entire Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency and urged them to take solace in the good legacy he left while he enjoined christians to fear God and keep his commandments for it is the whole duty of man.
Responding, the first son and the wife of the deceased, Mr. Nnaemeka Uba Nworgu and Mrs. Uba Nworgu thanked the Speaker for coming to sympathize with them in their mourning period and prayed God to bless him and wished him good fortunes in his political endeavors.
Earlier, the Primate of the First African Church Mission Nigeria, Most Rev. Dr. S.O. Matilukuro, had said that death is an inevitable end of every mortal and described late John Nworgu as a God-fearing man who served God in different capacities of the church with his resources, strength and giftings.
The cleric noted that until the death of John Nworgu, he was one of the 15 membership of the Board of Trustees of the church both home and overseas who contributed immensely to the growth of their church.
While charging the christian faithful to fear God and live righteously, Rev Matilukuro prayed God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
Late Elder John Uba Nworgu who died at the age of 68years was a retired Principal and a member of the All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, ANCOPSS and former Deputy Executive Secretary of Education in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area.
The funeral ceremony attracted the presence of an Elder statesman and a political Leader in Ngwa-land, Dr. Gershon Amuta, the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha among others.
