Abia signs Anti-grazing law for Control of Nomadic Cattle Rearing

The Abia State Control for Nomadic Cattle Rearing and Prohibition of Anti-grazing Rules Reserve Law has been signed into Law.

This was revealed by the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly following the matter of urgent public importance raised by Honorable Egwuruonu Obasi who called on the state government to ensure immediate and strict implementation of the Anti-Grazing Law

He also called on the Lawmakers to do everything possible to protect lives and property of Abians from angry herders by deploying security agencies at needed areas.

Supporting the motion, Honorable Luke Ukara Onyeani, Honorable Ugbaja Theophilus, and the Deputy Speaker, Honorable Cosmos Ndukwe, appealed to Law Enforcement Agencies to be responsive.

Meanwhile, H.A.B 66 – the Abia State Education Tax and Education Trust Fund, H.A.B 67 – the Abia State Continuing Teacher Training Centre Bill and H.A.B 68 – The Abia State Examination Development Centre Bill have all passed through first reading.
