Following the attack at the Uzuakoli Police station in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State,the Abia Police Public Relations Officer, Geophrey Ogbonna,has disclosed that rocket launcher and dynamite was used to set the station ablaze.
The PPRO who revealed this to our reporter,said at about 2:58am today, unknown gunmen, attacked the Uzuakoli police station,when the policemen on duty repelled them,they resorted to using dynamite and rocket launcher to raze down the station.
Ogbonna said no life was lost, as well as no arms or ammunitions were carted away.
He said already exhibits were discovered and serious investigations are ongoing, calling on the general public to avail useful information to the police,so as to fish out those involved in the act.
Recall that weeks ago, similar incident took place in World Bank Housing Estate Aba,where a police station was razed and property worth millions of Naira destroyed.
It could also be recalled that the state government last week, alerted the public of a planned attack in parts of the state,which necessitated the imposition of curfew in some parts of the state.
