.

The letter titled “Time for me to quit“, and addressed to Chief Innocent Nwagba, Chairman of Ward 5, Oguduasa PDP, Isuikwato, conveyed Nwaka’s departure from the party.

Sen. Nwaka who served as chairman of the PDP’s Abia State chapter from 2010-2015, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve without scandal.

Recall that during his tenure, the party achieved considerable success, winning two consecutive gubernatorial elections, maintaining control of the State House of Assembly, and securing nearly all National Assembly seats in two general elections.

“I am really happy I served without a whiff of any scandal. Instead, under my watch, the party brought uncommon stability, peace, and a winning streak,” Nwaka remarked.

When National Ambassador sought to know his future political plans, Nwaka hinted at the possibility of aligning with another political platform if it becomes necessary in the future.

He emphasized, that his primary focus is on public service, which does not necessarily require active participation in partisan politics.

Politics for me is about service to the public. One doesn’t have to be involved in partisan political activities to render service to his people.

“However, if in the future it becomes necessary for me to align with any partisan political platform, I shall not hesitate to share the news with the press.

As you all know, it is not in my nature to hop from one political party to another. I’ve been with PDP since it was formed over 24 years ago. I’ve now firmly resolved, for entirely personal reasons,to pull back and take stock”, Nwaka said in a telephone interview with the National Ambassador.

Nwaka also explained that his resignation had taken place some time ago but had only now been made public due to increasing invitations to PDP activities and encouragement from his political allies to declare his position.

“I thought I could go quietly just the way I joined the party, but with invitations to PDP activities, which I’ve been declining politely and prodding from my allies to declare my stand, I decided to make known my resignation which took place long before now”, he further explained.
