Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has reaffirmed that the State remains open and ready for credible investors, stressing that his administration is firmly committed to fostering a conducive environment in which businesses can thrive.
Governor Otti made this known at his Nvosi office in Isialangwa South Local Government Area while receiving a delegation from Zenco Group, led by its Chief Executive Officer, Chief Cletus Oragwu.

The Governor stated that his administration is implementing investor-friendly policies and strengthening institutional frameworks to ensure ease of doing business, attract sustainable investments and drive economic growth across the State.
He emphasised the State’s vast economic potential is anchored on both human and natural resources, adding that Abia offers a unique blend of industrious people and a business-friendly climate necessary for enterprise growth.

“We are very open to business, we are also very hungry for the potential of Abia State to be harnessed fully, including the human resources.

“Our people are very industrious, they are very hardworking and those are the things that we require for businesses to grow”, the Governor said.
He noted that his administration’s reforms in infrastructure and security have begun to attract both local and international investors and cited a major agricultural investment already secured by the State as a sign of growing confidence.
“You probably would have also read that a big investor in agric has already committed to investing 200 million dollars in this State in the next few years”, he stated.
Governor Otti further assured the Zenco Group of the State Government’s readiness to engage and support their investment plans, explaining that relevant structures would be put in place to facilitate seamless collaboration.
“Our own job is to continue to make the environment conducive for these investors to come in. Abia’s identity as a commercial hub makes it naturally welcoming to businesses. This is a State that is business-friendly, we are businessmen and women”, the Governor said.
He commended the group for its renewed interest in the State and expressed optimism that their return would yield mutual benefits.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Zenco Group, Chief Cletus Oragwu, attributed the company’s decision to reconsider Abia as an investment destination to the noticeable improvements in infrastructure and security under the current administration.

He recalled that the company previously operated in the stayte but exited due to unfavourable conditions, noting that the ongoing transformation by the Otti led administration has restored investor confidence.

Also speaking, a member of the delegation, Mr Simon Oshi, commended the Governor’s infrastructural strides, particularly in Aba, describing the city’s transformation as a key factor in positioning Abia as an investment hub.

He expressed optimism about future investments, stating that the improved business climate has made the State increasingly attractive to investors.
