Abia Monarch Commends ABSIEC over peaceful conduct of LG Elections

 

The Traditional Ruler of Eluama Na Mgbedeala Autonomous Community in. Umuahia South Local Government Area,Eze Chibuikem Rowland Osuagwu,has commended ABSIEC over the peaceful conduct of the just concluded Local Government Elections,which he said would serve as a blueprint for future elections.

Interacting with National Ambassador in his Palace, the Abia monarch said, since the inception of the conduct of Local Government elections in the state, the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission (ABSIEC), has been up and doing in carrying out a free,fair and credible elections.

Eze Osuagwu said in his community,the exercise went on peacefully, without any form of violence, adding that the community leaders contributed to the smooth run of the elections because they have been intimating the people on the need to register and prepare for the election.

He said few days to the election,the community also sent out the village town crier to go and inform the people to come out enmesse on the day of the election and also to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner.

The traditional ruler, however, expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the elections, saying they would not deny their support from the newly elected LGA chairman.

He assured that they would continue in ensuring that peace remain in the land and also support the government of the day, adding that traditional rulers are not politicians, but are fathers of the whole political parties, with the role of guilding political leaders when they go wrong.
