Abia Lawmaker Doles Out Bags Of Rice, Cash, As Christmas Gifts To Constituents

 

As part of activities heralding the celebration of Christmas, the member representing Ohafia North State Constituency, Hon. Mandela Obasi, has doled out bags of rice and cash gifts to PDP stakeholders,as well as his constituents to celebrate the Christmas.

The event which took place at the residence of the Lawmaker in Abiriba,Ohafia Local Government Area, had the presence of stakeholders from the six INEC electoral wards that make up Ohafia North State constituency.

In an interview with newsmen, Hon Mandela Obasi, noted that celebrations like Christmas, is the best time to show his stewardship to his constituents, adding that he would continue to do more for them.

Hon Obasi while distributing over 170 bags of rice and cash gift of #2.5 million, appreciated the unflinching support given to him by his constituents, which he attributed to the numerous successes he has recorded so far.

He further disclosed that their support paved way for effective representation and equally made his job easier, promising that he would continue to attract more dividends of democracy to the people of the area.

Hon Obasi who wished his constituents a peaceful celebration, prayed God to keep everyone to see the new year.

The Lawmaker also reminded his people to be mindful of the Covid-19 pandemic which still subsist, hence the need to observe strictly all covid-19 safety measures even as they celebrate.

Responding on behalf of the stakeholders, a former Commissioner for Transport, Chief Mrs Nnenna Obewu Onwuka, eulogized the leadership style of the lawmaker, which she said endeared her to his administration.

She pointed out that Hon Obasi has not only been able to represent his people effectively but has recognized them and also ensured that they enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Mrs Obewu explained that she contested with the Lawmaker for the House of Assembly
seat in the 2019 elections, but when she was not given the ticket,she decided to massively support the Lawmaker and as well cue into his leadership style.

Speaking respectively, the majority leader, Ohafia Legislative Council and councillor representing Amaogudu ward ll, Hon. Nmaju Ukaku Ojebe and Councillor representing Amaeke ward l, Hon. Obasi Daniel Ochuru commended Hon Obasi for making the welfare of his people his priority, stating that the achievements of the Lawmaker supercedes that of his predecessors, praying God to sustain him with divine wisdom and knowledge,so that he can do more for his people.
