Abia Judiciary Staff Hold Road Walk to Promote Health and Wellness

Staff and stakeholders of the Abia State Judiciary today participated in their routine Judiciary Road Walk, an exercise aimed at promoting physical fitness and staff well-being.

Speaking after the walk, the Chief Judge of Abia State, Justice Lilian Abai, expressed satisfaction with the impressive turnout and active participation of staff despite the short notice. She encouraged continued involvement in the exercise, emphasizing its benefits for the health and productivity of all participants.

The Administrative Judge of the Ohafia Judicial Division, Justice K.C.J. Okereke, lauded the resumption of the programme during the Legal Year Week, commending the Chief Judge for her commitment to sustaining the initiative.

In their separate remarks, the Chairman of the Magistrates’ Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mr. Nnaemeka Orji, Dr. Emmanuel Esiaba (Deputy Chief Registrar, Special Duties, Customary Court of Appeal), Mrs. Nkwachi Onwutuebe (Deputy Chief Registrar, High Court), and Magistrate Uzor Onuoha, who coordinated the exercise, described the programme as a laudable initiative. They noted that it not only fosters unity among staff but also enhances physical and mental health.

Some participating staff, including the State JUSUN Secretary, Mr. Chibueze Nwachukwu, and Mrs. Ogechi Harrison, described the road walk as “refreshing and inspiring,” calling for its regular organization. They also encouraged their colleagues who missed the event to join future editions.

The event featured dancing, aerobics, and a “round chair” competition, culminating in the presentation of prizes to winners.
