‘Abia is safe for investment’, Abia Speaker tells foreingners

The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Chikwendu Kalu has restated the determination of the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu led administration to ensure massive economic development in line with the major policies of the State.

 

Receiving in audience the Comfort-Steven Conglomerate China, who were in the State Assembly on a visit, Chikwendu Kalu stated that Abia State is a fertile ground for foreign investors because of the thriving environment already in place.

 

The Abia Speaker hinted that the proposed Comfort-Steven Asian Industrial City will add impetus to the laurels already won by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Earlier in his presentation, Dr John Nwankwo said the Conglomerate is seeking Legislative backing to set up business interests in leather, fabrics, garments and shoes, adding that the projected timeframe of 2020 is feasible based on already existing enabling environment on ground.

 

Contributing, Mr Michael Chen stated that Zhida Group in China, partners of Comfort-Steven Group are frontliners in shoes and sole manufacturing, stating that the Conglomerate is coming to Abia with the assemblage of the best manufacturing template and technology to the State, while Mr Woo hinted that the Group is interested in the raw opportunities and the creation of further employment in Abia, in line with the policies of the present administration.

Lawrence Odoemelam in a vote of thanks, extolled the Legislative acumen of Rt. Hon.Kalu and commended the enterprenural ingenuity of Hon. Munachim Alozie, the House Committee Chairman on Trade and Investment for constantly drawing expartriates to Abia State, adding that the opportunities in the State can be tapped by the Comfort-Steven Group.
