The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Staff Welfare Association (ISWA), Abia State Chapter, has inaugurated a new executive leadership following the completion of two tenures by its outgoing chairman, Mazi Collins Eze.
Mazi Eze, who led the association for four years, formally handed over to the newly elected executive that would steer the affairs of the association for the next two years.

He recounted several milestones recorded during his administration, including the construction of a secretariat, prompt welfare interventions for members, and the organization of various programs aimed at staff development and unity.
Speaking at the association’s 2025 End-of-Year Party, the outgoing chairman expressed gratitude to members for the opportunity to serve, noting that it was his final address before handing over to the new leadership. He described his tenure as a privilege, highlighting both achievements and challenges encountered along the way.

Among the accomplishments outlined were the successful hosting of delegates’ meetings, effective implementation of resolutions, and the payment of welfare benefits covering child dedications, weddings, and burial rites for parents of members.
He also noted that the association provided financial assistance to staff with critical health challenges and other pressing needs.

Mazi Eze further disclosed that, for the first time, the association organized a solemn assembly, an initiative he said was designed to promote spiritual rejuvenation and offer insightful lectures on career development, adding that strong collaboration with INEC management significantly contributed to the successes recorded under his leadership.
As part of his administration’s welfare drive, the outgoing chairman stated that benefits due to retirees were fully cleared, stressing that all staff who retired between 2023 and 2025, were duly appreciated, noting that deserving staff members were honoured, while awards were conferred on the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barr. Ibeziako Chukwuemeka, and the Administrative Secretary, Chief Ama Ibom Agwu, for their outstanding support.

He commended members for their support and cooperation throughout his tenure and urged the new executive to build on the solid foundation laid by his administration.
In an interview, the newly elected chairman, Comrade Enyinnaya Nwoko, assured members of his commitment to consolidating existing legacies while introducing improvements where necessary.

He appealed for the cooperation of his colleagues, expressing optimism that the association would achieve remarkable success at the end of his two-year tenure.
Comrade Nwoko also thanked members for the confidence reposed in him, which he said contributed to his victory at the association’s election.

The highlight of the event was the disbursement of ₦100,000 each to ten retirees.
