The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on revenue generation Chief Iheanyi Igboanulam has lauded the giant strides recorded by the Acting Chairman Abia State Board of Internal Revenue Service Mr Celestine Agbara in revenue generation.
Chief Igboanulam who was addressing a delegation of revenue agents who paid him a new year visit in his Umule-Ohuhu country home,in Umuahia North LGA, noted with satisfaction that the BIR Acting Chairman has so far shown capacity in his new assignment,an achievement which he said is worthy of commendation.
Chief Igboanulam whose KPAKPANDO OHUHU title has become a household name within his clime and beyond, equally noted that the E-ticketing revenue generation system introduced by the Agbara-led BIR has brought decency in revenue collection with its attendant boost in the state’s IGR.
He further charged revenue agents and revenue generating MDAS in Abia state to keep playing by the rules with a view to boosting the state’s IGR in the midst of dwindling federal allocation.
The revenue generation expert also noted that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is gradually changing the narrative in terms of infrastructure in various parts of the state,a development he said has continued to receive accolades from all quarters.
He applauded the Governor for approving subvention to various institutions of higher learning in the state which will go a long way in addressing to a large extent issues of salaries in the institutions.
Igboanulam acknowledged with delight the doggedness and commitment of the Commissioner for Finance Dr Aham Uko in re-engineering the financial machinery of the state which has led to the regular payment of workers salaries before the 30th of every month.
While wishing all Abians a prosperous 2021 ,Chief Igboanulam urged those doing business in Abia state to keep paying their taxes and payable fees in line with their civic obligations.
