Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the former PDP candidate for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2019 elections, Dr Chima Desmond Anyaso, has solicited for the support of Bende youths and Abia in general,as he joins the gubernatorial race in the forth coming election.
Anyaso who had already declared interest to run for governorship come 2023, officially informed Bende youths, calling on them to support his ambition,as it is time for youths to take over in Abia State.
In an event powered by the Ofuji Movement,tagged ‘Bende Xvaganza’, which featured musical performance,comedy and dance, held at the Practicing School Uzuokoli,Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, Anyaso further called on the youths to repeat the same support they gave to him in 2019 and even in a greater dimension,so as to redeem the youth mandate.
He said the essence of the event was to appreciate the youths for their support so far and also to inform them of his ambition and the need to elect a youth as governor come 2023.
“It is time to change the story of Abia. It is youth O’clock.The time to bring in a youthful governor is here and. there is no going back.
“Violence, EndSars,and other vices can only come to an end when the youth take up the saddle of leadership.
He further asked the youths to vote PDP all the way, as there will be no room for rigging.
Anyaso, however, thanked Ndi Bende for their unflinching support in 2019, urging them to repeat the same support.”You supported me in 2019, but God said we should hold on, that He has a bigger plan for us, that is why He kept us alive and healthy.
In his speech,the Chairman Board of Trustees,Chief Anyaso Foundation,Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha, described Dr Anyaso,as a man with vision and capacity,ready to take Abia to the next level.He beckoned on Abians to throw their support behind Chima Anyaso, adding that with him, all sectors of the state will receive be revamped.
Also,the President General, Progressive Abia Youth, Ekejiuba Daberechi Kingsley, said this time, the youths are taking over, lamenting the level of damages done by our leaders.
“Our leaders have failed us.Today we are hungry, unemployed, our students are at home because of strike, no good road.It is only the youth that can get it right”.
“Winston Churchill said, Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality that guarantees all others”.
Ekejiuba Kingsley further appreciated the courage and capacity of Dr Anyaso, who declared his intention to run for the office of the Governor of Abia State.
“The Youths are not sleeping. Our state is in a terrible shape; one that is worrisome”.
The youth leader also highlighted that Abia State has the 4th highest unemployment rate in the country and one out of four youths is either unemployed or underemployed. “This is why stomach infrastructure continues to influence the thoughts of many. We have the worst Internal road network in South East. In the transparency and accountability metric, Abia is ranked very low.
“The same politicians who have been in power for the last 20+years still campaign with the basic things of life, Electricity, Water, Education.
“We must intentionally create an avenue to outgrow these anomalies. This we must do in 2023 and We must do it! We Must, Our Generation must make the difference”,he stated.
Kingsley further appreciated Dr Chima Anyaso, for taking the plight of the youths seriously, giving business support to youths,as well as scholarship programs.
