Abia govt to clamp down on substandard school buildings across the state.

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has said his administration will clamp down on substandard school buildings across the state.

This is in a move to forestall collapse of school buildings as well as ensure the safety of lives of students and pupils.

Governor Ikpeazu stated this after inspecting two model schools built by his administration at Abayi Umuocham Primary and Secondary School in Osisioma Local Government as well as Osusuamaukwa Primary and Secondary School in Obingwa Local Government Area.

He described the school building collapse in Lagos which led to the death of innocent children and teachers as unfortunate noting that the pupils lost their lives in the hands of substandard contractors.
