Abia Govt Tasks FRSC On Reduction Of Road Accidents

 

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba has charged the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Service Corps, Abia State Command, Mr Paul Ugwu to be more creative and proactive in putting measures on ground to reduce carnages on the roads.

Pastor Ajagba who gave the charge when the State Sector Commander FRSC, paid him a courtesy visit at Government House Umuahia, noted that the move is necessary especially now that the ember months are by the corner.

 

The Chief of Staff to the Governor who disclosed that the present administration is focused, embraces law and order and places great premium on the protection of lives of Abians also enjoined the FRSC to continue to entrench professionalism and respect for rights of citizens in their places of assignment.

He further stressed the need for them to synergize the state board of internal revenue, integrate technology in the process of revenue generation in line with Governor Otti’s move in enhancing, eliminating fraud and intermediaries in revenue generation across the state.

 

Reacting to the issue of gridlock around Isigate Umuahia and Aba environs, Pastor Ajagba made case for a stronger synergy between the FRSC and the State Road Traffic and Management Agency ARTSMA in ensuring free flow of traffic in the areas while assuring the state Sector Commander of government’s support and partnership to enable them discharge their duties effectively.

In his address earlier, the State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Paul Ugwu while congratulating Governor Alex Otti on his victory at the polls and Pastor Caleb Ajagba on his appointment as the Chief of Staff to the Governor, noted that the command is committed to their core mandate of making the nation’s highways safe for motorists and other road users nationwide.

 

Mr Ugwu disclosed that the essence of his visit is to familiarize with the present administration and seek for partnership with the state government in tackling some of the challenges militating against their swift operation.
