The Abia State Government has once again called on Abians living outside the state and across the globe to return home and invest, citing significant progress in infrastructure, security, and the ease of doing business.
The State government said it was time for Abians to showcase the “Aku ruo ulo” spirit, commending the Chief Executive Officer of Don Media Group and II Flame Entertainment, Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, fondly called Don Lulu, for setting up a multi million naira radio stations in Umuahia, Don 103.7 FM and Ikoro 93.3 FM.
Interacting with the media, shortly after the commissioning of the two radio stations at Umuawa Alaocha, in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, the Senior Special Assistant to the Abia State Governor on Special Duties, Dr George Chidozie, who represented the State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, at the event, described the development as a clear reflection of the impact of the Governor’s policies. He said that the current administration’s efforts to address insecurity, improve power supply, and build critical infrastructure are yielding visible results.
Chidozie disclosed that the influx into Abia by investors, is an evidence of the good works Governor Alex Otti, is doing, adding that If the Governor was not working, no Abian would see the need to return home to invest.

According to him, the state has long been appealing to its citizens in the diaspora to bring their investments back to Abia, especially now that the state is enjoying an enabling environment for business growth.
“His Excellency has tackled key challenges head-on, from insecurity to power supply and infrastructure development, and the results are clear. We are now witnessing a surge of investor interest in Abia. Investors are coming are now coming because they see the difference”.
He said the huge investment in the media industry by Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, could only be obtainable in a place where security was prioritized. “This kind of development can only happen where security is assured, infrastructure is in place, and government policies support business growth. His Excellency has laid that foundation, and today, investors are coming to Abia in torrents”, he added.
Dr Chidozie while hinting on the numerous benefits the Don Lulu’s investment would have in the state, commended him for leading by example and described his investment as a true demonstration of the “Aku ruo ulo” spirit, which basically means, “bringing wealth back home”.
“Don Lulu is a shining example of this spirit, he has exhibited true faith in the potential of Abia by investing here. He did not let fear hold him back. That fear belongs to the past. Today, Abia is open for business, safe, secure, and ready for growth”.
He further called on Abians to come home and invest, adding that the fears of the past were gone, assuring them that businesses operating in the State, particularly in Umuahia and Aba, now have a business-friendly atmosphere to thrive, stating that the environment is safe and welcoming for both Abians and non-Abians alike.
