Abia govt inaugurates implementation committee on joint state, LG projects

Abia State governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has inaugurated the Local and State government joint project implementation Committee charged with the responsibility of initiating and completing projects that would be of common interest for local and state governments.

Dr Ikpeazu who spoke during their inauguration at Government House, Umuahia equally asked them to ensure that necessary funds are contributed both by the state and local governments towards the actualization of the projects to be jointly sponsored by both the local and the state government.

Represented by his deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, the governor tasked the seven man committee made up of the Chairman of the committee and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs, Elder Henry Nwachukwu, transition committee Chairmen of Isiala Ngwa North, Chief Armstrong Chimezie, his Ukwa west counterpart, Chief Ossy Nwamuo, that of Bende local government areas, Hon P.C Onyegbu representing the three senatorial zones of the state, the Accountant General of Abia, Mr . Kelechi Imeoria, Auditor General of State, Elder O.U. Ngwobia and Auditor general of local government, Mr. Chinaemeze Chinaemeze to ensure that the aim of setting up the committee was realised.

Responding on behalf of the other members of the committee, its chairman and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Elder Henry Nwachukwu
thanked the governor for having confidence in them to execute projects on behalf of the state and local governments areas.

He assured that the committee was going to carry out projects that would impact positively on the lives of the people in the local governments areas.
