Abia Govt House Presents 2023 Budget Estimate …Says Budget To Focus On Completion Of Various Ongoing Projects,Others

 

The Office of the Governor, Government House Umuahia has presented her 2023 draft estimates to the budget committee,Planning Commission for consideration and approval.

 

Presenting the Budget with the theme: Valedictory, Economic Expansion and Stability at the Conference room of the Abia State Planning Commission, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahiwe noted that the 2023 budget is designed to focus on the successful completion of various ongoing projects and effective implementation of programs which have direct bearing to the people’s well being.

 

The Chief of Staff who used the opportunity to reel out the achievements of the Government House in the year 2022 said, the 2023 budget would also consolidate the gains of the past year in the provision of social amenities for the entire citizenry.

 

He explained that the Government House is the hub that coordinates all the functions of the entire MDAs and other public engagements in the state.

 

While projecting the Policy Thrust for the year 2023, Chief Ahiwe said the Government House would continue to provide enabling linkages and encouragement to MDAs for completion of Strategic government infrastructural activities across the17 LGAs of the State in addition to ensuring that the key pillars of the states development agenda are result oriented.

 

The Chief of staff maintained
that Peace and Security, Agriculture, Ease of Doing Business, Trade and Investment and SMEs would be promoted while platforms to attract foreign direct investment shall be strategically evolved.

 

He further stated that the Government House would continue to procure tools, capital equipment, necessary utility vehicles for effective running of government across MDAs and other governmental bodies.

 

Earlier in her remarks, the Chairman 2023 Budget Committee,Dr Mrs Nnenna Chikezie noted that the Valedictory Budget would not only serve two administrations but would also carry the present adminstration through till the point of winding down in the next few months.

 

The Committee also urged the Chief of Staff to the Governor to address the challenges of Government Liason Office in Lagos as well as set up machinery to recover government vehicles from various Political office holders.

 

Permanent Secretary, Government House,Mr Alozie Odoemena, Members of the Government House Management Team as well as Members of the Budget Planning Committee were present during the presentation.
