Abia State government has reaffirmed its dedication to collaborating with Geometrics and Aba Power Limited, with the goal of providing consumers in the state with a reliable, sustainable, and affordable alternative electricity supply.
The Commissioner for Power and Public Utilities Mr Ikechukwu Monday stated this while on a familiarization tour to Geometrics and Aba Power Limited, Osisioma LGA.
Monday, in company of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade,Commerce and Industry Chief Nwaka Inem, noted that power plays a pivotal role in Governor Alex Otti’s administration’s economic and industrialization agenda.
The commissioner who described Aba as the base of Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa’s industrialization, reiterated the government’s dedication to enhancing power generation.
He commended the Chief Executive Officer of Geometrics Professor Bath Nnaji, for his unwavering efforts in ensuring steady and reliable power supply for Abians.
Contributing,the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, Chief Nwaka Inem, urged the company to expedite the processes toward delivering alternative and consistent electricity to Abians.
Inem, emphasized that Dr. Alex Otti’s government is committed to supporting any positive initiative contributing to the state’s economic revitalization.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer, Geometrics and Aba Power Limited,Professor Bath Nnaji who outlined the company’s objective to make Abia the first state in Nigeria to enjoy a stable power supply, revealed that Geometrics Power currently provides electricity to nine local government areas of the state.
Professor Nnaji advocated for a stronger collaboration with the state government in procuring meters to address issues such as estimated billing, protection of their field staff from harassment, and preventing the vandalism of electrical installations among others.
He described Governor Alex Otti as a steadfast partner who has played a crucial role in the success story of Geometric Power and emphasized that power remains the driving force behind commerce, industrialization, and a prosperous economy.
