Over Two hundred indigenes of Umuda Isingwu in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State have graduated from an intensive training organized by Caritas Nigeria on Care giving.
Speaking to the graduands at the Community Hall, Tuesday, the wife of the State Governor,
Mrs. Priscilia Otti, commended
Caritas for training mothers and caregivers on how to mutually relate with their children to avoid being violated and abused.
According to her, the administration of Governor Alex Otti, is very much particular about protecting the girl child and would partner with any organization or association to turn around the fortunes of the girl child in the State.
“However, I am very pleased with Caritas Nigeria and Umuda Community for the supportive roles they played in training these ones and for you graduands, deploy the skills you have learned to help the society”, she disclosed.

Earlier in his address, one of thec ordinators and Secretary General of Umuda Isingwu Welfare Union, Apostle Chuks Alozie, said, the programme is to educate, train and creates awareness for youths to be morally sound in order not to become victims of violation and abuses.
According to him, the training would also help parents to become friendly with their children so as not to hide any information due to fears.
Also speaking , Mrs. Naomi Chinyere of Caritas explained that the organization is a Non Governmental Organization under the Catholic Church whose programmes centred around family health and work with other Ngo’s, unions and government to ensure that victims of violation and abuse gets justice, “We also train and get out of school children back to school”

Some of the graduands who spoke to National Ambassador , Mrs Echebiri Joy, Christian Chigozirim and Mrs. Jonah Nkechi, said that they have been equipped and will not hesitate to deploy their skills to help the society.
