A 15 man primary healthcare under one roof implementation committee have been inaugurated with a charge to ensure effective realisation of government objective of setting up of the primary health care system in the state.
The state governor, Dr Okezie lkpeazu while inaugurating the committee at government House, Umuahia mentioned as part of their terms of references to include identifying and transferring all primary health care personnel in the local government areas to the agency as well as ascertain the state of the primary health care facilities and equipment across the various council areas.
Represented by his deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu said that the committee also has the responsibility of ensuring that every health personnel are actively involved in the action plan but reverted back to their various local government pensions schemes on retirement among others.
He expressed confidence that with the composition of various stakeholders versed in the management of the health sector both at the local and state levels, the desired result of effective health care service delivery would be achieved.
The Governor reassured of the present administration’s resolve to take issues bordering on the health needs of Abians with health been one of the enablers of its five pillars of providing quality health care delivery to the people.
Responding on behalf of other members of the committee , the chairman, Mr Okechukwu Ihedioha said they are grateful for the privilege given to them to serve in the committee and assured that they would not let the state down but will speedily and timely submit the reports of their findings on schedule to help move the health sector to another level of development.
Other members of the committee include, Dr Ikechukwu Nwabeke, Elder G.O Azu, Mr. J.E Alozie, Dr Madu Awa, Lady Cordelia Nwokoro, Chinagozie Adindu, Mrs Joy Nwanju, Mrs Onyinyichi Anyanwu , Chinwendu Felix Joe, Ugonwa Anosike, Ijeoma Harbour, Emeka Sopuruchi , Dr Okorie Onuka anf Mrs Nne Ralph Egbu who will also serve as Secretary.
