He revealed that the Embassy occasionally receives falsified requests purportedly from Ministries and Government Agencies in Nigeria and stressed that the Abia Diaspora Commission could play a vital role in verifying genuine requests from the State.

We believe there are individuals within Ministries and Government Agencies who exploit the system for personal gain. They claim, to arrange a visa to Germany for people and exploit them, after which they draft a note, compile a list, and forward it to the embassy.

“This is where your support would be invaluable. Any assistance you can provide in this regard would be greatly appreciated”, Mr Lehne stated.

He further advised that visa applicants should always plan ahead at least ten days in advance to avoid unnecessary rejections.
