Chairman of the Abia State Civil Service Commission, Dr. Jerry Eno, has reiterated her commitment to supporting civil servants in the state to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.

Dr. Jerry made this statement when she received the Executive Members of the Administrative Officers’ Association, who paid her a courtesy visit. She attributed the commission’s achievements under her leadership to the good governance of Governor Dr. Alex Otti, whom she described as deeply committed to the welfare of civil servants in Abia State.

The Civil Service Commission Chairman commended the Governor’s efforts in restoring order and professionalism within the state’s civil service, which she believes will help revive its lost glory. She urged all stakeholders to join in the fight against indiscipline in the system.

Addressing challenges in staff competence, Dr. Jerry emphasized the importance of professionalism as a key to achieving efficient service delivery. She highlighted plans to prioritize training, retraining, seminars, and conferences for civil servants in the coming year to boost capacity building and improve performance.

On digitalization, she encouraged the workforce, especially administrative officers, to embrace computer literacy, emphasizing its significance in enhancing their effectiveness.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Civil Service Commission, Deaconess Dim Ijeoma Clara, appreciated Governor Alex Otti for providing the commission with a new office complex. She also lauded Dr. Jerry Eno for her efforts in ensuring the successful realization of this milestone.

Earlier, the President of the Administrative Officers’ Association, Commander Nmerole D.O., congratulated Dr. Jerry Eno on her appointment as Chairman of the commission.
