Abia Assembly receives list of nominees, sets committee for screening

The Abia State House of Assembly, has received a letter from the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, requesting the House to screen and confirm the 27 individuals presented by him who would serve as members of his cabinet as Commissioners.

 

Reading the letter during plenary, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji, confirmed the names to include, Chief Okezie Erondu, Prof. Ikechi Mgbeoji, Karibe Ojigwe, Mrs. Uwaoma Olewengwa, Rt. Hon. Christopher Enweremadu, Barr. Charles Esonu,            Chief Chinagorom Nwankpa.

 

Others are, Mr. Monday Ajaegbu, Mr. Sopuruchi Bekee, Deaconess Rose Nna Urenta, Chief Kingsley Emeaga, Mr. Chidi Uwagwu Kalu, Barr. I.C Mark, Mr. Ndom Godwin, Mazi Donatus Okorie, Chisom Nwachukwu, Chief Eze Nwanganga, Barr. Tony Nwanmuo, Barr. Sam Nwogu.

The list also include, Dr. Chidi Nwajiuba, Mr. Ugochukwu Emezue, Mrs. Adaku Ozeiza, Chief Ukwu-Rocks Emma,
Barr. Eze Chikamnayo, Barr. C.C Emelogu, Mr. Godswil Nwanoruo and Mr. Prince Obinna Eke.

 

Also the Speaker, mandated the Clerk of the House to inform the nominees to prepare their relevant documents and appear before it for their screening exercise on a date that will be communicated to them by House of Assembly.

 

In another development, the House equally set up an Adhoc Committee that will conduct an internal screening for the above-mentioned persons.

The Committee members are, the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu, the Minority Leader, Hon. Chukwu Chijioke, Hon. Munachim Alozie, Hon. Kelechi Onuzuruike, Hon. Paul Taribo, and Hon. Mandela Obasi.

 

Among the letters received and read during the plenary today were list of members of the Abia State Civil Service Commission and Local Government Service Commission.
