Abia 2023: Enweremadu, Others, Woo Abayi Community

The people of Abayi community in Isiala Ngwa Local Government Area (LGA), Abia state have been urged to vote for the ruling party in the state, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) come 2023 general election.

The commissioner for local government and chieftancy Affairs, Rt. Hon. Christopher Enweremadu made this known during the town hall meeting held at Abayi Group school in Isialangwa autonomous community recently.

The former Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, enjoined the people of Abayi to vote the ruling party especially the governorship flag bearer; Prof. Uche Ikonne, stating that the candidate is their brother and son from Isialangwa and must not let this opportunity enlude them.

According to him” Abayi will be good and anything they could not get from the present administration, they will get if Ikonne wins as the governor.

He cited that Obingwa was backward before the emergence of Dr okezie ikpeazu as Abia governor”.

Enweremadu further assured Abayi people of strong security outfit to help tackle the issue of insecurity in the community and advice the youths to shun social vices and seek for good ways of getting money instead of stealing and kidnapping.

He promised to convey their complains to the governor and assured them it will be adequately taken care of.

Earlier in his speech, the councilor, representing Ngwaukwu ward four in Abayi Isialangwa autonomous community, Hon. Prosper Ogwuma, said the essence of the town hall meeting is to educate the people of Abayi the important of joining the winning party; PDP and also to give a warm reception to commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs who is their in-law and as well state the needs of the people to him.

Ogwuma assured that his people will deliver PDP come 2023 election and they will no longer be involved in anti-party games.

Also speaking, an Aide to the Abia Governor, Hon. K.C. Chidiadi said the essence of the meeting was to sensitize the people of Abayi on were to belong as regards politics of the state.

He said Abayi have big voice, it was a community that produced first Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor and yet are lagging behind politicially.

According to him the people of Abayi will deliver PDP come 2023 election and this will make government to take them serious.

Highlight of the event was cash empowerment of 11 youths and 11 women.
