NOTICE OF NON PARTICIPATION

Dear Stakeholders & Party Faithfuls,

It is with all sense of responsibility that I write to inform you of my decision not to participate in the PDP Guber Primaries scheduled to hold tomorrow 25th May, 2022. Hard as this decision may be, given the resources, time, energy and goodwill invested in this project, I feel more concerned about your dreams and hope for a better Abia State which ,by the grace of God and your support, I dared to realise. Unfortunately, by the contrivance of a few self-serving persons, the processes leading up to our party Primaries have been manipulated through a non-existent ward Congress to scheme us out of the race in PDP.

Like you would expect, I cannot be party to a fraudulent process that may only lead to pyrrhic victory. The basis for tomorrow’s purported Guber Primaries is like a foundation built on quicksand. So your guess is as good as mine if legal precedence is anything to fall back on.

As I ruminate on the next line of action regarding our shared vision for the state, I find it most honourable and decent to sincerely thank you for accepting me and my GRACE Agenda with your warm reception, prayers and moral support. You demonstrated conviction in my capacity to deliver, much more than where I come from. You believed that my proposed transformation program was simple, measurable and achievable. And you were ready to go the whole hug with me on a level playing field. But alas, we are faced with a hijacked process whose outcome cannot be edifying. Else how do you explain that a spurious list of 3-man delegates from a non-existent ward Congress will be used to conduct Guber Primaries in this age and time.

Be that as it may, I will continue to consult widely and pray to God for direction to the next course of action. Be rest assured I will not take your support for granted.

Once again, thank you and may God bless you all.
