ABHA 2023: Fabian Pledges Effective Representation To Umunneochi

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Umunneochi state constituency in the Abia state house of Assembly for 2023 general election, Chief Fabian Nwankwo has disclosed that Umunneochi constituents should expect effective representation from him when elected as the member representing the constituency at the state’s house of Assembly.

Chief Fabian who stated this recently in Umuahia during an interactive session with the press, said he is vying for the Umunneochi state constituency seat to make a difference, change the political narrartives of the past, add value, contribute to legislations that will directly affect the welfare of the people, and make serious impact on his constituents among others.

In his words: “There is poverty in the land and I would also ensure that Umunneochi people are given what is due them”.

Nwankwo, who has held many top political positions in the state ranging from the Deputy Chairman of Umunneochi LGA , the transition chairman(TC) tof the council, commissioners of Petroleum, Public utilities and water resources and as well as that of Science and Technology and lately the Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state maintained that he will bring to fore all the experiences he has gathered over the years to ensure that there are serious government legislative laws to back up whatever actions people will take to solve their problems.

“I want to add my own quota, make my own contribution with these vast of experiences gathered from local government, as a commissioner,as party man etc. Do I just leave maturity and experience to waste and rot away? No ! There are certain things we need legislative backings to work as it affects our own area”, he said.

The PDP candidate for Umunneochi state constituency in ABHA said that as a politician that is not sectional, he carries the entire LGA along in whatever he is doing.

Recalling his days as the Council boss of Umunneochi LGA, he disclosed that no stakeholder was taken for granted, everybody was carried along.

“Nobody was taken for granted as leaders were allowed to assert control in their various areas of jurisdictions. I am not a sectional Politician”,he further stated.

Some of his achievements on the various public offices he has held in the past include:55 got waivers for the employment of Umunneochi people and other abians into the civil service both at the state and local government levels, attracted the road transversing Leru-Lomara and Nneato axis, built the advisory council hall now known as the Umunneochi council hall under 28 days after being sworn in the TC of the council, offsetted three months salary arrears of LGA staff at once on his first month assumption as TC thereby boosting the confidence of the staff, built the double partition entrance gate at the LGA headquarters opposite the chairman’s office at the Nkwoagu roundabout, brought over 40% of 33kva transformers used in Umunneochi, as most of the communities in Umunneochi that now have electricity were done under his tenure as the commissioner for public utilities, empowered many petty traders by giving them seed money to establish businesses, and so on.

The former PDP spokesman in the state further revealed that coming from the Executive arm is an advantage as he understands the working dynamics of the government system in the state and know what is workable and what is not, as such, as a legislator, he knew he can cause a lot of things to be to help improve the welfare of the people.

The former TC chairman, further promised that he will ensure that the voice of Umunneochi state constituency is heard , work in synergy with the executive arm to ensure that bills passed in the house will have an impact on the people and with his experience ensure that whatever is due to Umunneochi state constituency in political context comes to them.

“I will operate on a very high pedestal as far as the business of the house is concerned. Expect effective representation, for the first term, I must make a positive impact on the welfare of the people. I must do my best”, Chief Nwankwo assured his constituents.
