Abarikwu Picks APGA Ticket For Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency

 

 

An Indigene of Isieke Ibeku In Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State,has emerged as the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA),candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency.

After a keenly contest at the APGA secretariat in Umuahia, Engr Ogbonnaya Ibeji Abarikwu,emerged the winner of the contest with a total of 73 votes out of the 89 votes cast, defeating his closest rivals Prof Onwasanya Eze who polled 13 votes.

A total of 89 votes were cast,with 86 valid votes and 3 invalid votes.

Shortly after being declared as the winner of the contest, Engr Abarikwu while fielding questions from journalists, said he is ready to reposition the Ikwuano/Federal constituency.

According to him,he would get to the drawing board to map out programs and policies that would bring the constituency to the front burner, adding that he would not hesitate to work with other progressives to bring development into the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal constituency.

He, however, vowed to bring excellent performance,as well as quality representation,so that the people would continuously enjoy the dividend of democracy, stressing that he would attract quality health care, good roads, security of the people, world class education, regular power supply and employment opportunities to the people of the constituency.

Stating whether he can slug it out with the PDP candidate and candidates from other party, Abarikwu maintained that the people should be able to decide who they want as their representative, but expressed optimism that he would win the Reps seat.

He further congratulated the other aspirants, dedicating his victory to the delegates, commending them for the patience they displayed, while the party was trying to work out the ripples surrounding the primary election.
