The 2023 House of Representatives Candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Engr Ogbonnaya Abarikwu, has congratulated Senator Chris Adighije on his 80th birthday anniversary.
Addressing newsmen at the birthday celebration in Umuahia, Abarikwu described the celebrant as a selfless leader and statesman who has touched the lives of many, regardless of party affiliation. He commended Senator Adighije for his contributions to the development of Abia State and Nigeria at large, emphasizing his dedication to good governance and service to humanity.

According to Abarikwu, Senator Chris Adighije has been a father figure and a mentor to many, stating that his wealth of experience in politics and public service has continued to inspire younger generations. This he added,contributed to the large turnout at his birthday celebration.
“Sen Chris Adighije has remained a bridge-builder, fostering unity and progress in our state and beyond”, Abarikwu stated.
He further lauded Adighije’s unwavering commitment to the growth of Ikwuano/Umuahia and his numerous developmental strides, particularly in education, infrastructure and human capital development.
Abarikwu also used the occasion to call on political leaders to emulate Senator Adighije’s leadership style, which he described as inclusive, people-oriented, and driven by integrity.
When asked about his ambition to contest in the 2027 elections, Abarikwu stated that he would not run for any position unless directed by God. He emphasized that he is waiting for divine guidance before making any political decisions. However, he used the opportunity to urge the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency to support Hon Obi Aguocha, the current representative, to ensure his success in serving the constituency effectively.
The birthday celebration, which attracted dignitaries from different walks of life, was filled with goodwill messages, tributes and prayers for the celebrant to remain in good health and long life.
Senator Chris Adighije, a former lawmaker and respected elder statesman, expressed gratitude for the show of love and support, reaffirming his commitment to the progress of Abia State and the nation as a whole.
